  1. interesting perspective, Warren.

I'm not qualified to disagree, but isolation can be expanding as well. Humans are social beings and when we were cut off from face to face in person contact we became creative innovators. Zoom and social on-line platforms opened doors to accommodate the very human need for contact and shared experience. Now it looks like we are spiraling back into the maw of rising cases. The second time around may be easier due to the coping skills learned in 2020.

  2. Warren, very interesting insights. We masked up and sat on lawn chairs in socially-distanced pods to enjoy four in person Cincinnati Opera productions. We were "together" as an appreciative audience.

Kait, I agree with you. I "met" more authors on zoom than I ever would have at conferences. We had FaceTime calls with our kids, discussing shared experiences like movies and sports events and our dogs. Everyone now has a dog. And a garden.

  3. That may be so, Warren, but it seems we are going back to higher numbers of Covid due to a new strand or not wearing masks. Not sure. Yesterday while grocery shopping, I decided to wear my mask again. I hated to do it, but my area has loads of tourists now.

  4. Brings to mind the story behind the song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon."

A group of young people were on a bus trip. Also on the bus was a recently released ex-con who was not sure whether his girlfriend would accept him back, and did ask her to tie a yellow ribbon around a tree. He told everyone on the bus, and when they approached the town, he couldn't look, but everyone else on the bus did and erupted in cheering when they saw the ribbon.
