  2. I've started banging on the piano again and reading across the crime fiction genre. Good for you experimenting with writing plays.

  3. I've decided that I want to try to learn something new every year. Now if I could only remember what it was I wanted to learn...

  4. I believe it, too, Warren. I like trying unfamiliar cooking techniques, and I'm glad to say that my family is mostly happy when I do. Have fun with your plays. I'd love to see one someday.

  5. A few months ago I took up painting for an additional creative outlet to writing. I'm having so much fun with it and take delight in learning by watching other painters on YouTube. It's important to keep our brains active as we age, so I also do Sudoku, Blocks, and jigsaw puzzles.

  6. Am I happy to hear that it's normal that my memory for names peaked decades ago. Sometimes I'm not entirely sure I remember my own name.

I enjoy new challenges, but often I take comfort in pursuing comfortable, familiar activities.

  7. Funny that my post this weekend talks about those of us of a certain age. It's always wonderful to try something new. If we've learned anything as we age, it's that not being great at something, even failing at it, doesn't matter. Having fun with it and finding out that you just might be great at it is the exciting part.
