What's On Your TBR? by Shari Randall

Yes, I've been a bit quiet lately. As my younger daughter says, life has gotten a bit "lifey." But it's in these "lifey" times that it's wonderful to escape into a good book. Tonight I'll be diving into Louise Penny's The Gray Wolf and I'm looking forward to getting my copy of the eighth Guppy anthology: Gone Fishin' Crime Takes a Holiday.

What's on your bedside table tonight?

  1. I just finished A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson (no relation). It was excellent. Currently in the middle of S. A. Cosby's All the Sinners Bleed.

  2. I'm currently reading Wintering: The Power of Rest and Retreat in Difficult Times by Katherine May. It's so good, I'm lingering with it.

    1. Sounds like a perfect read for this time of year and for when life gets lifey. Thanks for the recommendation, Annette!

  3. The Raging Storm by Ann Cleeves. I can really get lost in her books.

  5. I recently read Penny's latest which has a great climax scene. And I enjoyed a second visit with characters and places from earlier books. Not my favorite of her books. After a slow start, I enjoyed Alafair Burke's THE NOTE, about which I'll blog next month. Great twists that turn the plot upside down. Fun!

  6. I'm reading two that haven't been published and Lois Winston's newest release - Seams Like the Perfect Crime. Recently finished We Solve Murders and two memoirs: Lovely One and Connie.

  7. Books are a balm. I've got three going. I'm listening to Pony Confidential, by Christina Lynch, about a pony who only ever loved one human and now has to find her and save her from a murder rap. A bit silly, a bit poignant, and a lot of fun. At bedtime I'm reading a reprint of Christianna Brand's 1947 book Suddenly at His Residence; A Mystery in Kent. And early in the morning, I'm reading Bishop Marianne Edgar Budde's How We Learn to be Brave.
